Blog experience

My experience writing on the blog was new, because I had never written such a long post in english before. I feel that my writing skills have improved, although I still have a lot to practice. I would like this activity to be the future involving the writing of essays or academic texts, to add technical and scientific writing in english.

In addition, I must mention the importance of english in our disciplines, particularly in archeology. Most of the texts that we must read are written in english, because the language is "universal", or because the pioneers of the discipline are english speakers. Therefore, to improve our english skills is indispensable to perceive as natural the scientific knowledge.

Finally, I perceived that the degree of this course increased refers to the other levels. I affirm this since I started from english 1 (Starter). This, given that it encourages interaction in english with other classmares; also, this blog implies, necessarily, focusing on increasing our fluency in writing skills. I have improved in all english skills since I started level 1, however, I must mention my individual effort outside the course and the university to level me in the language. Therefore, we must be constantly improving our english.

Archeoastronomy

I´m going to talk about archeoastronomy, my favourite subject of my career. This subject shows how past cultures understood the astronomical phenomena. If you understand it, you will be able understand the mind of other peoples, because that shows their worldview, their knowledge about space and time.

There were expositives classes. The first and sencond class was done by an astronomer. Those classes were about astronomy like science. The following classes were about archeoastronomy, with cultural and archeological aspects. The final evaluations were a exposition, reading tabs and a monography. The exposition was about andine astronomy; reading tabs about Cultural Astronomy, and monography about mapuche and aymara astronomy.

I think this subject is very intereseting, because it studies a symbolic area since materility. The knowledge of stars, like I said, let us to know the found  of worldview of other people. However, this is controversial because it is very difficult to know that only through material objects. For this reason, historical and ethnographic sources are usually used to support the analyzes.

Finally, the universe beyond our planet is an unknown area for all cultures, including modern astronomy, so it is interesting to know how other cultures, with a different way of seeing the world, understood heaven.

Rhapsody of Fire

In this post I will talk about other of my favourite bands: Rhapsody of Fire. This band was born in Italy, 1993. Their first EP Legendary Tales was released in 1997. This band plays symphonic/power metal, they tell us an epic history in each album. Their instruments are fast, harmonoius and melodic, and the voice is very versatile, it is can be clear, lyrical, high and gutural. The classic members of this band were Alex Starolopoli (keyboards), Luca Turilli (guitars), Dominique Leurquin (guitar), Fabio Lione (vocals), Patrice Guers (bass) and Alex Holzwarth (drums). In 2011 Luca Turilli, one of their founders members and compositors, leave the band for own proyects. Then, in 2016 Fabio Lione (vocals) and Alex Holzwarth (drums) leave the band, too. Today the members are: Alex Staropoli (keyboards), Giacomo Voli (vocals), Robert de Micheli (guitars) and Alessandro Sala (bass).

I like this band very much because they are very virtuous and magic. Their music travel through my hearth and imagination: when I listen them I imagine a wonderland where dragons and other creatures exist. Technically, they are grandious musicians. Those symphonies get with instruments and that beautiful and versatile voice, became to Rhapsody of Fire in one of the best bands in all metal history.
